How this works
Where the recipes come from
Every recipe in the directory was added by us, one at a time. We do not copy recipes. We list the ingredients, describe the dish, and link you to the original recipe on the site that published it. The full method and quantities always live with the original author, with clear credit.
How we classify ingredients
We check each recipe's ingredient list against our ingredient classifications, which cover common allergens and a growing list of individual ingredients. When you tick a filter, we only show recipes we have positively classified as free from that thing.
We follow one rule without exception: if we do not know, we assume caution. An unknown ingredient never counts as safe. This means we sometimes hide recipes that would actually suit you. We think that is the right trade.
Our full classification list is public: every ingredient we recognise and how we classify it. We would rather you check our work than take our word for it.
What we cannot do
We cannot see what is in your pantry, how a product was manufactured, or whether a recipe author has changed their ingredients since we classified the recipe. Products get reformulated. Recipes get edited. Our information can be out of date or incomplete without us knowing.
So the deal is: we do the shortlisting, you do the checking. Read the original recipe. Read every label. If a product or recipe looks different from what we show, trust the label, not us.
Not medical advice
We are a filtering tool, not a health service. Nothing here is medical or dietary advice. For questions about diagnosis or what is safe for you or your family, talk to your doctor or a qualified dietitian.
Spotted something wrong?
If a recipe is tagged incorrectly or an ingredient looks misclassified, please tell us through the contact page. We read everything and corrections make the directory better for everyone.
